- 1856-S Liberty Double Eagle. 17O. No Serif, Left S. MS-65 (PCGS). CAC. An incredible display of brisk luster and whispers of pale orange illuminates the satiny golden surfaces of this beautiful double eagle. Sharp and appealing, and easily worthy of the assigned grade. Though nearly 1,100 examples of the date were found in the <em>Central America</em> treasure, the present specimen ranks very near the top of the <em>PCGS Population Report </em>for the 17O variety. A perfect blend of premium quality and historical importance.<br /> Outer left serif of U in UNITED blunt, broken crossbar on A of STATES, broken E in AMERICA, S mintmark tilts noticeably left. Accompanied by a Columbus-America Discovery Group Certificate of Authenticity.
