Lot Description

1909 Lincoln Cent. Proof-65 RD (NGC). OH. A handsome Satin Proof. The smooth surfaces are fully struck and display dominant mint color in vivid golden-orange. Subtle iridescent highlights are noted, mostly on the obverse over and around Lincoln's portrait. Given the scarcity of the 1909 V.D.B., the identically dated issue without the designer's initials is the only realistically obtainable first year Proof Lincoln cent for most collectors.
