Lot Description

Warm honey-gold surfaces with a tinge of pale pinkish-rose, both sides also sport appreciable mint luster in a softly frosted texture. A few minor marks on Liberty's cheek are noted, but generally require magnification to discern. The second most obtainable die pairing of the most frequently encountered D-Mint Liberty Head quarter eagle, this Choice AU 1843-D of the Winter 4-H attribution would make a nice addition to many mintmarked gold type sets.
