- 1913-S Barber Quarter. MS-62 (PCGS). CAC. When it comes to low mintages, no other Barber Quarter can best the 1913-S. Only 40,000 pieces were produced for this issue, and examples have long been elusive in numismatic circles. A rare Mint State survivor, this piece is sure to have no difficulty finding its way into an advanced collection of Barber coinage. The obverse is richly toned with vivid olive-apricot peripheral color blending with softer lavender-gray patina toward the center. On the reverse, we see olive-gold iridescence throughout. The overall strike is sharp, and a few wispy carbon flecks on the obverse are the only blemishes of note. A superior-quality BU.
