- Heavy commercial use was the rule for the vast majority of 1964-D Roosevelt dimes. Among Mint State survivors, evidence of rough handling on the part of government and bank employees is evident in most cases. Not so here. In addition to being virtually pristine in preservation, this dazzling Ultra Gem exhibits stunning obverse toning in reddish-rose and olive-blue that adds outstanding eye appeal. The reverse is more reserved with a splash of reddish-russet and much brilliance. Intensely lustrous on both sides, toning enthusiasts and advanced Roosevelt dime collectors will compete vigorously for the honor of securing this prize.
