- Manley Die State 5.0. Boldly toned in a blend of deep golden-brown and lighter olive-copper, this is a smooth-looking Fine grade example to represent this famous Classic Head half cent issue. Softness is most evident at central obverse and around the reverse periphery, but all major design elements are bold and readily appreciable. Fascinating and "rare" (as described by Manley, 1998) late die state with a prominent obverse cud break along the border outside and engaging the first four stars. The Cohen-1 Wide Date is by far the scarcer of the two die marriages know for the key date 1811 half cent, with Bill Eckberg (2019) accounting for only 150 survivors in all grades.
