Lot Description

BB Die State IV. An easily identifiable die marriage thanks to the collar at Liberty's bust line caused by die clashing. While generally plentiful, Q. David Bowers notes that "AU specimens are in the rare category." Struck from Die State IV, which features a thin die crack from Star 6 to the ribbon. Light friction is noted on the high points and in the fields. A trace of luster clings in the protected areas, enlivening a delicate touch of iridescent toning that is particularly pleasing at the rims, suggesting long term album storage. Overall, a great example for the date or type and worthy of a strong bid.
