With wisps of pale powder blue and pinkish-rose to generally honey-orange surfaces, this sharp and lustrous Choice AU example present nicely in all regards. The perennially popular 1854-S is the premier ten-dollar gold eagle issue from the San Francisco Mint. While a relatively high percentage of the 123,826-piece mintage has survived, examples that grade AU or Mint State are scarce relative to demand for them among today's quality conscious gold enthusiasts.
