- 1854-FD Round $1. BG-602. Rarity-6+. Liberty Head. AU-50 (PCGS). The plate coin in the second edition (2003) of the Breen-Gillio reference <em>California Pioneer Fractional Gold</em>. BG-602 is one of only two Frontier, Deviercy & Co. issues that displays the distinctive Broad Bust portrait on the obverse. With very few examples extant for both varieties, the opportunity to add an example to a specialized collection of California Fractionals comes along only once in a long while.<br /> A delightful representative of BG-602, this piece exhibits vivid copper-rose highlights to dominant khaki-gold patina.
