Lot Description
1866 Silver Three-Cent Piece. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC. Beautifully toned in peripheral colors of steel-blue and pale champagne-apricot, the centers on both sides are brilliant. Semi-prooflike in finish to further enhance already strong eye appeal, this is also an expertly preserved coin that is knocking on the door of a Superb Gem Uncirculated grade. Circulation strike silver three-cent production in 1866 amounted to just 22,000 pieces, examples of which are seldom offered even in circulated grades. In Mint State this issue is rare, especially with the superior technical quality and strong eye appeal offered here. PCGS Population: 14; 15 finer in this category (MS-68 finest). PCGS# 3686. NGC ID: 22ZG. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
