Lot Description

Tompkins Die Stage 2/2. Vivid intermingled gold, pink, blue and lilac iridescence enlivens otherwise dominant pewter and olive-gray patina. The impression from both dies shows excellent centering. The obverse die state is advanced with the denticulation either faded or completely missing around that side. A lengthy adjustment mark (as made) from Liberty's neck into the field before the nose is noted.
