1793 Flowing Hair Cent. Chain Reverse. S-2. Rarity-4+. AMERICA, Without Periods. AG-3 (PCGS). Marbled golden-brown and copper-rose patina to both sides, the boldest detail reserved for the central reverse and most of the letters in the word LIBERTY along the upper obverse border. Liberty's portrait is partially outlined, the digits in the date extremely faint and requiring some imagination to discern. Scattered surface digs and edge bumps are noted, none of which are unusual for a Chain cent that saw this extensive circulation. More affordable circulated quality for this historic one year design type in the United States Mint's large cent series. PCGS# 1341. NGC ID: 223F.
