- 1872-S Seated Liberty Half Dime. Mintmark Above Bow. MS-67 (PCGS). An impressive Gem half dime of the finest order, sharply struck, impressively lustrous, and delightfully toned with gold, rose, and neon blue iridescence, especially on the reverse. Tied for finest certified by PCGS—the NGC Census lists three examples at MS-67, with none finer. Definitely among the finest extant examples of the variety, the present coin holds up admirably to close-in examination. If you are involved in a Registry Set quest, we suggest you won't do any better than this for quality, eye appeal, and, of course, grade. Have at it!
