DUPLICATES FROM THE BLACKCAT COLLECTION What a glorious design! Really what a marked improvement this design would have been to replace the Seated Liberty type! Charles Barber's famed so-called "Society" or "Wash Lady" design, one of the most popular and avidly sought pattern designs in the whole expanse of the Judd reference, one that gained its nickname back in New York Coin & Stamp's April 1891 auction. Struck in silver with a reeded edge, this is a Rarity-6- pattern, with just 21-30 known in all grades. The near-GEM surfaces are watery and highly reflective under the rich, dappled multicolored toning. Shades of amber, gold, rose, teal, and violet pop as the surfaces are rotated in a light. The devices are generally well struck and boast thick frost that contrasts nicely against the surrounding fields. Just a light line on Liberty's cheek, which will forever be a pedigree marker, keeps this coin from a GEM grade. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $12,000. Just three are graded higher in the CAM designation. Worthy of a fantastic Pattern type set. A popular type with lots of demand from collectors. Cert. Number 13552072 PCGS # 397120
