Lot Description
1869/9 Indian Cent. Snow-PR2. Repunched Date. Proof-65 RD Cameo (PCGS). All proof 1869 cents share the same obverse die, which is a minor RPD with faint repunching evident at the top of the digit 9 in the date. This beautiful and conditionally rare&nbsp;specimen combines a deep-rose obverse with a more vibrant, golden-rose reverse. Well mirrored fields are readily evident on both sides, the surfaces of which are expectably well preserved at the Gem grade level. According to Indian cent specialist Rick Snow (<em>The Flying Eagle & Indian Cent Attribution Guide, 2nd Edition, Volume 2: 1859-1869</em>), the proof 1869&nbsp;is a very scarce find in higher grades, as here.
