FROM THE DR. STEPHEN DAVIDSON COLLECTION This is a very pleasing middle date large cent in GEM Mint State grade. Medium brown color surfaces have a bold satiny luster. As you rotate the surfaces in a light some iridescent toning accents are seen over the problem free surfaces. The strike is bold and the eye appeal is lovely. PCGS 82, NGC 60, CAC 35. The most recent example sold in the 2021 ANA auction for $2,880. The Price Guides have not been updated to account for that strong price, and are still at $1,850 in PCGS and $1,870 in the CAC CPG. Scarce finer this is a neat type coin for the collector. Cert. Number 31453992 PCGS # 1741
