- FROM THE STAR CITY CAC MORGAN COLLECTION. This is the FINEST certified example of this variety, and is the PCGS CoinFacts plate coin. This is a coin that really comes to life in the light. Rotating the coin's magnificent surfaces, the brilliant luster shows off a flashy, almost fully Prooflike reflection on both sides. The devices are fully struck and are almost fully frosted, giving this GEM a very distinctive look. A touch of frosty-iridescent white/gold tone can be seen on both sides, which attests to its originality. A few stray marks account for the assigned grade, but they do not affect the wonderful eye appeal. PCGS 430, NGC 96, CAC 49. Overall for the 7/8 Strong type, 30 have been graded in MS65+. This is the FINEST VAM-40 graded by PCGS and is worthy of inclusion in the finest set of Morgan dollar varieties. The most recent MS65+ PCGS/CAC to sell in auction realized $4,348 in our July 2018 Regency Auction, as part of the RanJack Collection. Prior to that, the last one to sell brought $3,600 in September 2017. Collector's Universe does not list a value for the VAM number in this grade. Good luck. Cert. Number 25052087 PCGS # 7078
