1804 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-8. Rarity-1. Spiked Chin. MS-62 BN (PCGS). CAC. Glossy antique copper-brown surfaces with glints of steel-olive on the obverse, the reverse with an overlay of steel-brown. Well centered in strike and sharp overall, this is a handsome Mint State example for the type or variety collector. Cohen-8 is the final die marriage produced for the Spiked Chin variety of the 1804 Draped Bust half cent, and also the most available. Several Mint State examples are know, although they are scarce in an absolute sense. Manley Die State 2.0. Provenance: From our (Stack's) T. Henry Allen Collection sale, February 1977, lot 93.
