Lot 147 1813 S-293 R2. PCGS graded MS-63+ Brown.Frosty light to medium chocolate brown with lighter brown and tan toning in protected areas on the obverse. Mint luster shows in the fields and protected areas. There is a thin vertical scuff in the field left of star 10 and puffs of darker olive brown toning at the N and D in UNITED plus another at the first T in STATES. MDS, Breen state III, with clashmarks on both sides and a raised ridge over TES-OF-AM. The repunching on the 3 remains clear. Struck slightly off center to K-4 leaving some of the obverse dentils off the planchet. Graded AU55 net EF45 in the Noyes census, his photo #20669. Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55.
