Only 10,000 Philadelphia Mint coins intended for general circulation were forthcoming for this year in the half dollar category; the final year of branch mint coinage for the denomination was in 1878, and only the Philadelphia Mint struck half dollars from 1879 through the end of the Liberty Seated series in 1891. This is a conditionally rare MS-66 that is sure to appeal of discerning bidders. It is brightly lustrous, brilliant, and a delight to behold.
