Lot Description

This is the holder type pictured at right at the bottom of page 43 in the 2012 Swiatek reference on U.S. commemorative coinage. Some of these have the name of the bank printed in gold lettering on the front, such as the example printed MERCHANTS AND / MANUFACTURERS / NATIONAL BANK, / PITTSBURGH, PA. that appeared in our June 2022 Auction, lot 5824. The present example, however is blank on the front, the interior with the standard inscription in gold lettering COLUMBIAN / 1492 / CHICAGO / 1892 / EXPOSITION. The holder is Nearly As Made with little evidence of handling. (Total: 1 coin; 1 holder)
