A pleasing mid-grade example of this scarce, key date issue in the Matron Head cent series. Deep rose accents otherwise dark charcoal-copper surfaces. There are some minor marks, commensurate with the amount of circulation this coin experienced to acquire moderate wear, and considerable encrustation is seen in the protected areas around and among the design elements, especially on the reverse.
