Lot Description

Among the FINEST graded, this coin ranks with the Eliasberg-Duckor and Gene Gardner coins as tied for second highest at PCGS. High end semi-reflecitve surfaces have a bold brilliant luster that shimmers below a layer of dappled multicolored toning. Shades of blue, gold, and pewter dominate, with intermingling accents of purple, copper, and olive-russet toning. The surfaces are virtually unabraided and have a generally bold strike with just a tiny area of weakness on the left talon. The eye appeal is high end. PCGS 5, NGC 2, CAC 4. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,500 and this coin sold for $9,600 over two years ago. Just two coins are graded MS66+ finer. This coin belongs in a world class Barber quarter set.
