1817 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-110a. Rarity-2. MS-64 (NGC). OH. Deep lilac-gray with lively luster that supports a rich display of active blue and peach iridescence throughout. The strike is bold everywhere save the eagle's sinister talons. Struck from noticeably clashed dies. Obverse die crack in place, reverse die crack at ERICA not yet formed. Choice for the grade and with a towering pedigree of the Douglas Noblet Collection by plate matching to that auction. Condition census for the variety. Provenance: From the Richard Jewell Collection.
