Lot Description
1796 Draped Bust Dime. JR-6. Rarity-3. VG-8 (PCGS). Richly toned dove gray surfaces retain bold outline detail to most major design elements. Vivid golden-apricot undertones exist to tempt the persistent viewer aided by direct lighting. As the second most obtainable die marriage of the first year 1796 dime, JR-6 is popular for type purposes. Survivors are scarce in an absolute sense, however, and few well circulated coins that we have handled over the years are as overall smooth and visually appealing as this handsome VG. Provenance: From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection. PCGS# 4461. NGC ID: 236B. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
