Lot Description

With 6.25 million Morgan dollars struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1883, it is plausible to think that this is a common issue in Mint State grades, like those struck in from 1879 to 1882. However, the 1883-S is quite challenging at the Choice Mint State level, and rare any finer than MS-64, as offered here. Combining brilliant and lustrous surfaces with crisply struck devices, this example has great near Gem eye appeal that is further enhanced by a noticeably semi-prooflike finish.
