Lot Description
DUPLICATES FROM THE BLACKCAT COLLECTION An AMAZING annular or ring-form cent pattern, a SUPERB GEM, and among the FINEST KNOWN of this Rarity-5 pattern. The simple design has UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and 1884 on the obverse with a beaded border. The reverse, when turned on a coin axis, shows ONE CENT at the top, and an upside down union shield between two olive branches. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Blazing fields gleam with a bold, brilliant reflective finish. The are clean, flashy, and delicately toned with hints of iridescent champagne. The eye appeal is fabulous! PCGS 5, NGC 1, CAC 2. Neither CAC coin has ever sold in auction, but non-CAC examples have sold in the $3,600-$4,080 range (th most recent back in June 2018). The Simpson PR68 sold for $5,280 in January 2021 (not CAC approved. The current PCGS Price Guide value for a PR67 is $5,500, and it would not surprise us if this SUPERB CAC-approved PR67 brought close to that level. Cert. Number 25209077 PCGS # 62150
