1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 12.2-C, W-4525. Rarity-5. Mailed Bust Left--Overstruck on a Nova Constellatio Copper--Good-6 (PCGS). Deep brown verging on steel-brown in places with uniform microgranularity throughout. Evenly worn but minimally marked, minor straight-edge clip at 5 o'clock relative to the obverse, no heavy abrasions or marks of consequence seen. Wreath details from host coin in effigy's hair on obverse, jumbled obverse legend reads AUCTORILIBCONNEC, reverse with a portion of the host coin's legend where the Connecticut overstrike's date should be. Neat and finer in-hand than you might imagine. PCGS# E403.
