Lot Description

We note lovely mint frost to hard, tight surfaces that retain plenty of vivid deep orange color. Gently mottled gray-brown iridescence is a bit more pronounced on the obverse. Well struck despite considerable evidence of die erosion; the reverse is rotated less than 45 degrees counterclockwise from medallic (!) alignment, although this is not unusual for examples in Grellman Die State c, as here. Of the two dozen or so Mint State survivors from this die pairing, about half show appreciable mint color. This is one such piece, and it would make a lovely addition to any high grade set.
