Lot Description

A richly and originally toned example awash in blended lilac, sea-blue, green and antique-gold. Direct viewing angles call forth powder blue and purple undertones - very attractive for the grade. The 1844 is an elusive and conditionally challenging half dime. Much of its mintage of 430,000 pieces was absorbed by the rigors of commerce and few Uncirculated survivors at any grade level are as attractive and problem free as the present specimen.
