- 250.2 grains. A fantastic example of the second and more common type of the undated Rosa Americana twopence, having a reverse with the UTILE DULCI motto within a ribbon or scroll as seen on the rest of the regular issues of the series. Hard and generally tight surfaces show only a few trivial planchet pits (as made), and none but a few equally inconsequential handling marks. Warm medium brassy-gold color dominates, both sides with mottled olive-brown toning and a few faint spots that help to explain the MS-62 grade from PCGS. There is plenty of eye appeal, nonetheless, and the Mint State type collector would be hard pressed to do better than this in an example of this Martin number. The reverse is rotated 90 degrees clockwise from coin alignment, which seems to be the normal alignment for this die pairing.
