Lot Description
1899-S Liberty Head Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC. Highly lustrous satin to softly frosted surfaces are fully struck with vivid, original deep rose-gold color. The most plentiful San Francisco Mint eagle from the mid to late 1890s, the 1899-S is still scarce when compared to such truly common Liberty Head issues as the 1901 and 1901-S. Finer than the typically offered survivor in MS-61 or MS-62, this impressive CAC-approved Choice example belongs in an advanced gold cabinet. Provenance: From the Fairmont Collection-Hendricks Set. PCGS# 8744. NGC ID: 267L. Click here for certification details from PCGS. Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA.
