Lot Description

A low mintage 20th century double eagle, fewer than 70,000 were struck and few seem to have been exported. Satiny lustrous and truly Mint State there are some minor ticks and bag marks, but the surfaces are not hacked up and the color is very nice. VERY SCARCE in any Mint State grade. PCGS 176, NGC 239. No NGC-graded example has sold in auction since November 2019. The market today is much stronger than it was then. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,500.
