Among the highest graded 1844 halves graded at either service! Featuring an exacting strike, fully rendering each detail, all of Ms. Liberty's hair and drapery lines, and all the Eagle's wing detail is brought up. A frosty, satin glow accents the lovely, original iridescent multihued toning. The obverse has a light golden-peach and olive-tan, while the reverse has a crescent of rich blue that blends with similar shades to the obverse. The eye appeal is wonderful! Also boasting the Gene Gardner pedigree. PCGS 0, NGC 3. PCGS has not graded anything finer than MS64. This coin sold in the Gardner Sale (May 2015) for $12,338.
