Lot Description

1879 Liberty Seated Dime. Proof-67 (NGC). Originally and expertly preserved surfaces exhibit steel-blue and olive-gray peripheral toning that yields to lighter champagne-apricot iridescence toward the centers. Associated by date with a low mintage circulation strike issue, the 1879 is one of the more eagerly sought Proofs in the later Liberty Seated dime series. This is a remarkable condition rarity from a mintage of 1,100 Proofs that is sure to impress even the most discerning numismatist. NGC Census: 9; 5 finer in this category (Proof-68 finest).
