Lot Description

1794 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-2a. Rarity-2+. Normal Head. Small Edge Letters. VF-20 (PCGS). A lovely mid grade example of the type, date and Cohen number, both sides are warmly toned in even autumn-brown. The in hand appearance is uncommonly smooth for the assigned grade with no blemishes of note apart from a dull mark at the base of Liberty's neck. The strike comes up a bit short at the letters UNI in UNITED, but the detail is bold to sharp elsewhere. Manley Die State 2.0, described as "Very scarce" by the author. PCGS# 35024. NGC ID: 2223.
