1869 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-742, Pollock-823. Rarity-5. Proof-63 (NGC). OH. Standard Silver design with a right-facing bust of Liberty on the obverse. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll below. Liberty is wearing a soft cap ornamented with two stars and a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY crosses her shoulder. The designer's initial B can be found within the folds of the ribbon at the back of Liberty's cap. On the reverse, a wreath of oak and laurel leaves partially encircles the denomination 50 CENTS. The inscription STANDARD SILVER is above and the date 1869 is below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A peripherally toned piece with full originality to sharply struck devices and well-mirrored fields.
