The robust cartwheel luster of this gem half dime supports an even sheen of bold iridescent peach-gold toning that engulfs both sides. Sharp nearly everywhere but for a trace of weakness atop Liberty’s head and the stars on the viewer’s right. Though considered a common date in today’s marketplace, at MS-65 or finer this date becomes an elusive issue; indeed, fewer than 20 examples of the date have been certified finer than the present specimen at PCGS.
