1878-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Good-6 (PCGS). A remarkable state of preservation for this rare date and mint, as most such coins have considerable problems -- not so here as the surfaces show only minor handling evidence despite considerable wear. The recorded mintage of 62,000 pieces implies rarity, which has long been confirmed by date collectors.
