We are pleased to offer more than one Choice AU 1885-CC double eagles in this sale, a duplication that should in no way be taken as a sign that this is a readily obtainable issue in this grade. In fact, the key date 1885-CC is scarce to rare at all levels of preservation, coins such as this that approach Mint State being decidedly in the latter category. This is a highly lustrous example for the grade, with rich, vivid color in bold honey-orange.
