Lot Description
1845 Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-103. Rarity-3. Repunched Date. MS-66 (PCGS). One of the very finest known for this issue. Overall brilliant satin white surfaces exhibit just a hint of reddish-gold iridescence in isolated areas. Modestly semi-prooflike in finish with a bold to sharp strike throughout. The surfaces are so fresh that the fine die lines from the engraver can be seen with ease, one joining the AT of STATES from the rim above, others diagonally through ERI of AMERICA. Such prodigious quality to have survived this well preserved is virtually miraculous. Certain to be a highlight in an advanced collection of Liberty Seated dimes. PCGS# 4586. NGC ID: 238B. PCGS Population (all die varieties of the issue): 3; with a single MS-66+ finer.
