1807 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-113a. Rarity-3. Small Stars. EF-45 (PCGS). First-year-of-issue for the popular Capped Bust Half Dollar series, the 1807 is a perennial favorite among both early Half specialists and type collectors. This piece is overall lightly worn, yet possessed of ample boldness of detail despite the often-seen softness of strike in the centers. Silver-gray surfaces also reveal plenty of satiny luster as the surfaces rotate under a light. Further adorning the reverse is a partial halo of reddish-apricot iridescence around the periphery.
