- Untoned and a nice strike. With just 10,366 pieces struck, the 1859-D has the second lowest mintage of any Dahlonega half eagle. This is a scarce coin in all grades and it is usually found in Extremely Fine. There are an estimated 28-32 examples in AU grades, plus another dozen or so in Uncirculated. A few very nice examples are accounted for including a superb PCGS MS64, Ex: Pittman, Melish, and Ten Eyck. Pop 1; 12 finer.(PCGS # 8282) </B>. <BR>Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.
