Lot Description
1871 Seated Liberty Silver Dollar. Proof-65 (PCGS). Large size coins with delicate surfaces, proof Seated dollars of all dates are very scarce to rare in the finest grades. The conditionally rare Gem we offer here, in fact, is exceptionally smooth with no distracting hairlines or other contact marks coming into view as the coin rotates under a light. What more direct angles do reveal, however, are iridescent cobalt-blue and silver-gray undertones to dominant copper-russet and pearl-gray patina, respectively. Uniformly mirrored in finish, and vibrantly so despite the aforementioned toning, with a razor sharp strike throughout the design. Important Gem proof type coin!
