Lot Description
R-5, 31-75 struck. Charles Barber's union shield with LIBERTY incuse on ribbon, Liberty cap and eagle on top of crossed poles. 1 CENT in olive branch wreath. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. A very tough later pattern, rarely offered. The hard medium milk chocolate brown surfaces have some mahogany and olive-teal accents. Sharply struck, this CHOICE coin has a great look! PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. The other PCGS-graded coin last sold back in February 1992! Let that sink in! That is 26 years since the last one sold. Clearly the Collector's Universe value of $3,900 is pure speculation. The most recent J-1768 to sell in auction was an NGC PR64 BN that sold for $5,520. We think this PCGS/CAC coin will sell for more! Cert. Number 35784520 PCGS # 62222
