Between 1861 and 1879, when gold "parity" was restored to U.S. paper money, mintage of gold coins was restricted. Moreover, people rarely saw actual gold coins in circulation in those years. Much of the gold that was minted served in payment for exports (PCGS # 8329) . Estimated Value $375 - 400.
