From the CORONET COLLECTION No question this coin warrants its lofty grade. We marvel how this coin has survived in such a lofty state of preservation for 117 years! Exceptional surfaces are super smooth and clean. Even looking around with a strong glass yields you just a tiny tick or two. There is plenty of original "skin" visible. A strong luster beams boldly from all over. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 6, NGC 7, CAC 4. Hard to believe but there is an MS69 of this date (the Famous Eliasberg coin). The last PCGS CAC MS67 1902-S $5 to sell at auction brought $23,500 in January 2014.
