<strong>Obv:</strong> Standard Silver design with a right facing Liberty bust serving as the focal device on the obverse. Liberty is wearing a soft cap adorned with three stars, and a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY crosses her shoulder. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the periphery and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed on a scroll at the lower border. <strong>Rev:</strong> The denomination 25 CENTS and the date 1870 surrounded by a wreath of corn and cotton. Rich steel-olive and autumn-brown patina with multicolored iridescent undertones flashing into view as the surfaces rotate under strong lighting.
