Lot Description

One of the dates that rarely comes in full RED GEM grades. The surfaces are a rich reddish-orange color with a strong satiny luster. Sharply struck throughout except for some minor weakness at the top of the feathers and at the bottom of the wreath. PCGS 48, NGC 13, CAC 2. PCGS has graded four coins in 65+ RD, with only 14 coins graded finer in the RED designation. NO PCGS/CAC MS65 RD has ever sold in auction, nor has any PCGS/CAC MS66 RD ever sold.
