A vivid, flashy, deeply Prooflike luster blooms brilliantly all over on this wonderful CHOICE 79-CC dollar. Both sides have a distinctive, near cameo contrast with thickly frosted devices that stand out against the deeply reflective fields. A few scattered ticks and lines, totally appropriate for the assigned grade are noted, their impact amplified by the delicate nature of the mirrored fields and frosted reliefs. The eye appeal is very high end for the assigned grade, we have seen higher grade pieces without this coin's outstanding eye appeal. PCGS 103, NGC 51, CAC 8. There are just 8 coins graded MS63+ PL at PCGS, the most recent sold in the 2008 ANA auction for $8,400.
